The 2009 Clos de Vougeot Près le Cellier is a dark, sumptuous wine that shows quite a bit more textural richness and depth than the Grand Montpertuis bottling. There is a layered quality to the fruit I find especially appealing here. This is made from the estate's larger piece in Clos de Vougeot measuring 2.7 hectares that Méo has christened Près le Cellier. Méo says the terrain here yields rich wines, but the wines themselves tell a different story, at least in 2009. - Antonio Galloni Vinous.Com, May 2011.
