2014 Krupp Brothers Stagecoach Chardonnay (95Pts) - “one of the chardonnays of the vintage” Robert Parker - Only $55 a bottle.

A chardonnay that is grown at 1350ft above the Napa Valley floor in the famous Stagecoach Vineyard on Pritchard Hill. This vineyard is in a place where the roots draw up the beautiful minerality of the volcanic soil. Sitting above the fog line – the vines enjoy lots of wonderful sun while being cooled by the bay breezes – the result is a creamy richness finishing with wonderful acid and lemon meringue pie.

This is the Krupp Brothers Chardonnay and I have the last few cases offered from winery of the 2014 & 2015 vintages, as they make way for the brand new 2016’s. Robert Parker describes the 2014 as “one of the chardonnays of the vintage, however, both of the vintages below offer up a 95Pt score.  These are a steal at $55 a bottle!

2014 Krupp Brothers Chardonnay

$330 per case

(SOLD OUT AT WINERY)

A beautiful Chardonnay from Krupp Brothers, the 2014 displays crushed rock minerality in the aromatics, which also include honeysuckle, poached pear, white peach, and some tropical notes like tangerine. The color is a light gold and the wine full-bodied, layered and totally compelling. This is clearly one of the Chardonnays of the vintage. Drink it over the next decade.

2015 Krupp Brothers Chardonnay

2 cases (6)

$330 per case

The 2015 Chardonnay Krupp Brothers from the Stagecoach Vineyard is another intense, mineral-laced wine. A full-bodied, alpha style of Chardonnay with plenty of power and glycerine, notes of tangerine oil, white peach, marmalade and loads of minerality all jump from the glass of this full-throttle Chardonnay, which has great acidity and minerality. Drink it over the next decade.
